Grandma's Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Place bottom crust in pie pan and fill with apple mixture.
  4. Dot with butter and cover with top crust.
  5. Seal edges and cut slits in top for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 40-50 minutes until crust is golden brown.
  7. Cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
